When being seduced by a rock star, only a fool falls in love.Sean

The night Dante Sinclair lured me into his dressing room and gave me my first kiss, I was oblivious to one important fact all rock stars are spoiled narcissists. I learned my lesson when our failed attempt at a reunion left me humiliated and heartbroken.

Now, Dante is booked into the music retreat I run. Years have passed, so I know he won’t recognise me. He’ll have no idea the man cooking his meals and washing his clothes is the same skinny boy he kissed so long ago. And when he begins to look at me like I’m his new favourite muse, my anonymity will be my only protection against the sensuality of his charms.

Dante

Grey. It’s the name I gave to the only boy I ever kissed. He is my favourite memory. The place my mind goes when the expectations of rock stardom threaten to choke me. I barely remember what he looked like, but I’ll never forget the way he made me feel.

When I came to this retreat, my goals were simple get out of my creative rut and write my new album. But one look into Sean’s eyes is enough to threaten the tenuous control I have over my life. He swears we’ve never met, but there’s a Grey-ness to him that inspires me, even as it makes me ache to satisfy the cravings I’ve denied for so long.

He may not be my Grey—but he’s close enough.

Finding Grey is an exciting MM rock star romance by Australian author Rebecca Raine. Although part of a series, it is a standalone novel with no cliffhanger and a highly satisfying HEA.

"I have to say I found this story very interesting. I am always intrigued when it comes to Rock star personas because I can't believe people could really do the things we read about. At first introduction into Dante he comes off as a spoiled teen rock star who gets his high from the reaction from his fans. However, when Sean (aka Grey) meets him, seeing bruising on Dante makes you take a closer look at how he acts. Introduce his father and his reaction too two young boys kissing and the picture starts to clear up a bit. Jump several years later, we meet Gabi, a female friend who unwittingly tries to reunite these young lovers with disastrous result. Jump forward again to grown up characters with one who is not ashamed of who he is and another who is still trying to be someone he is not and the complications grow. While I did like the storyline, I'm not sure I liked the time frame layout. It just didn't seem to flow smoothly for me. I had a hard time connecting to Dante and Sean, both kind of fell flat for me. Gabi was made out to be a large supporting character but we really did not get to know her , she was just kind of thrown in once and a while. I felt she should have been more front and center. Both Sean and Dante played a game with each other but it did not seem as though they explained the rules so did not measure up most times. I did like that Sean could see though the costume that Dante was wearing and could see the real boy he fell in love with. I liked the idea behind the storyline but was not overly wowed so was kind of disappointed. However, I would still pick up another book by this author as it could just be me."

  • I loved the cover of this book, it drew me in even before reading the blurb. This was my first MM romance read, and I was blown away by Rebecca’s outstanding writing and the depth put into her characters.
Dante and Sean (Grey) steal their first kiss when they were teenage boys. Dante, an up and coming Rockstar, is ripped away by his abusive father who is his manager. Thrust into the public eye over the years, Dante is portrayed to be the ultimate bad boy, womanising rock star. Supressing his feelings for men has him hit a mental creative block and is unable to write more music. To find himself he goes to a retreat to focus on writing new material.
Sean gave up his photography business to help his father run his music retreat. The night years ago with Dante is always on his mind. Hurt by Dante standing him up after a concert, old wounds are open when Dante walks through his door. But it’s been eight years, and Dante doesn’t recognise him.
The chemistry between these two men is intense and raw as they find out more about each other, and Grey’s true identity is revealed. Rebecca has done an amazing job of bringing these two men together. Finding Grey is a wonderful story about learning to stand up for yourself, being honest and following your passion. The romance was sweet, hot at times and sensual.
Grey is great! I highly recommend this read.
  • I'm totally into this rock star book !
They're only 17 and 15 when they first meet, but Dante is already a rock star and Sean has been following his musician father on tour to take photographs.
Dante is Seans first kiss an Sean is Dantes first kiss with a guy and neither one of them can forget the other one even when separated by outside force.
Years go by until Dante ends up on the retreat where Sean is helping his parents out.

I loved the tension and attraction between Sean and Dante and the way neither of them could help being drawn to each other. They are both delicious and I couldn't stop reading about them.
A great second chance, rock star romance!
  • 4 Cranky Stars

If you know me, you know rock star stories are my jam. Granted they can all run the same with the womanizing and drug and alcohol abuse who finally find that one girl that changes it all. I’ve also read several lately that broke that mold and Finding Grey is one of them. This was more than just a rocker hunting down someone he shared a passionate kiss with. This was a rocker with an abusive dad who basically gaslighted him into fame and keeping up with that image. Its about a rocker who kissed a boy for the first time, and it stuck with him for years. This is the story of Dante and Grey AKA Sean.

Dante has it all. Fame, fortune and adoring fans. His dad is his manager and he is every abusive to Dante if he doesn’t fall in line with how he thinks things should be. Dante spots a cute teenage boy with a camera backstage (don’t panic Dante is 17 at the time) and it sparks something inside him. You see Dante isn’t gay and never had a reaction so deep to a boy before. He invites him back to his dressing room where confessions are made and lots of heavy petting takes place. He never catches this boys name and wonders for years where he is all he remembers is eyes that are grey. He’s now in a slump with his writing he heads to a retreat hoping to spark some creativity. It’s here he meets a guy who reminds him so much of Grey. He starts to explore this newfound feeling while wrestling with the persona he puts on for his fans and media.

Sean was always a scrawny kid behind the lens of a camera. When Dante approaches him, he doesn’t know what he should do. He follows him backstage where it starts out innocent enough with some photos that leads to a heavy makeout session. This cements the idea that Sean is truly gay. They part ways and he keeps up with Dante’s career from a distance. Now an adult with a lucrative photography career he is helping his dad at the business he owns which is a retreat for artist to come and unwind and find inspiration. When his father tells him that Dante will be at the retreat he doesn’t know if he should tell the truth or keep it to himself. What can possibly come from it anyway? Now that they are face to face they have to decide to give into the attraction or ignore it.

I’ve never been so irrationally angry with a character as I was with Roger. I also wanted to smack Dante a few times like can’t you see how he treats you? I know a lot of us put blinders on when it comes to family especially a father. I liked that Dante was bisexual but knew he wanted to be with Sean. He did a lot of struggling mentally. He didn’t want his career to tank but he didn’t want to hide Sean anymore. You got to feel that struggle with him. Sean was who he was plain and simple. He didn’t hide or back down. He truly loved Dante and just wanted to be out and proud with him. This book was interesting, and I’m excited I got to read it. Rebecca Raine is a new to me author and I can’t wait to read more.
